Paganism: How it Affects Our World - The Days

The days are named after pagan gods and goddesses.
That alone shows how we have gotten away
from YHVH's ways.

Sunday:
The first day of the week.
The word comes from the Latin words Sol Invictus Mithras
(the day of the unconquerable sun, Mithras.)
Mithras was a name of the sun god.

Monday:
The second day of the week.
The word comes from the Anglo-Saxon word Monandaeg,
which means moon's day.
Monday was sacred to the goddess of the moon.

Tuesday:
The third day of the week.
The word comes from Tiu,or Tiw
The old Anglo-Saxon form of Tyr,
name of the Norse god of war.
The French call Tuesday Mardi, for Mars,
the Roman god of war.

Wednesday:
The forth day of the week.
The day gets its name from Woden or Oden,
the chief god in Teutonic mythology,
to whom it was sacred.
The Germans called it Woden's-day.
The first to name days after gods and goddesses
were the ancient Romans.
They called the forth day of the week
after the god Mercury
the messenger of the gods.
From this name the French call Wednesday Mercredi .

Thursday:
The fifth day of the week.
The ancient Norsemen considered the day
sacred to Thor, the Teutonic god of thunder.
The name means Thor's day.
This is probably a translation
of the Latin dies Joves.
meaning Jove's day, for Jove, or Jupiter,
the Roman god of thunder.

Friday:
The sixth day of the week.
the name comes from the Anglo-Saxon word Frigedaeg
which means Frigg's day.
Frigg was a goddess of love in Norse mythology.

Saturday:
The seventh day of the week.
It is named for the Roman god Saturn,
the god of agriculture.

This shows that the days have pagan origins.

Thus said יהוה,
“Do not learn the way of the gentiles..."
Jeremiah 10:2

Shabbat Shalom!

Shabbat Shalom!
Praise Yah for His set-apart day!!

Last week I went golfing with my dad
and I got my first par!   YAY!

I'm glad that today is Shabbat.
I'm glad that YHVH commanded us
to observe His set-apart day!!

 “Remember the Sabbath day,
to set it apart.
  “Six days you labour,
and shall do all your work,
but the seventh day is a Sabbath
of יהוה your Elohim.
You do not do any work –
you, nor your son, nor your daughter,
nor your male servant, nor your female servant,
nor your cattle, nor your stranger
who is within your gates
“For in six days יהוה made
the heavens and the earth,
the sea, and all that is in them,
and rested the seventh day.
Therefore יהוה blessed the Sabbath day
and set it apart.
Exodus (Shemot) 20:9-11

Shabbat Shalom!!

Blessed is the Man

Here's some more Scriptures for us to consider...

Blessed is the man
who shall not walk in the counsel of the wrong,
And shall not stand in the path of sinners,
And shall not sit in the seat of scoffers,
But his delight is in the Torah of יהוה,
And he meditates in His Torah day and night.
For he shall be as a tree
Planted by the rivers of water,
That yields its fruit in its season,
And whose leaf does not wither,
And whatever he does prospers.
The wrong are not so,
But are like the chaff which the wind blows away.
Therefore the wrong shall not rise in the judgment,
Nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous.
For יהוה knows the way of the righteous,
But the way of the wrong comes to naught

Psalm1

Let us delight in YHVH'S Torah!

Dealing Truthfully

Something that I read
while doing my seat work today.

"A man who is good at making excuses
is good for nothing else."
Benjamin Franklin

"If others promise- and neglect to do,
(Their fault is surely no excuse for you)
They'll trouble many- and be loved by few.

And in Scripture...

"Lying lips are an abomination to יהוה,
But those who deal truly are His delight."
Proverbs12:22

Let us be wise and keep our promises.

Praise YHVH! Psalm 148

Praise Yah! Praise יהוה from the heavens,
Praise Him in the heights!
Praise Him, all His messengers;
Praise Him, all His hosts!
Praise Him, sun and moon;
Praise Him, all you stars of light!
Praise Him, heavens of heavens,
And you waters above the heavens!
Let them praise the Name of יהוה,
For He commanded and they were created.
And He established them forever and ever,
He gave a law and they pass not beyond.

Praise יהוה from the earth,
You great sea creatures and all the depths,
Fire and hail, snow and clouds,
Stormy wind that does His word,
The mountains and all hills,
Fruit tree and all cedars,
Wild beasts and all cattle,
Creeping creatures and flying birds,

Sovereigns of the earth and all peoples,
Rulers and all judges of the earth,
Both young men and maidens,
Old men and children.
Let them praise the Name of יהוה,
For His Name alone is exalted,
His splendour is above the earth and heavens.
He also lifts up the horn of His people,
The praise of all His kind ones;
Of the children of Yisra’ĕl,
A people near to Him. Praise Yah!

 Psalm 148

Welcome

I just wanted to say "Shalom"
to whoever is reading this post.
I'm singing in my heart because
I'm happy that YHVH loves me.

Last year my family moved to southern California.
I enjoy living here and enjoy YHVH'S creation
both here and in the parts of Mexico that we can see.

Praise YHVH!!!!
